2005 – Today

June 2005 – Perennial begins operation of “supervisory control” as part of their SCADA system.

February 2006 – Perennial receives grant to begin economic development revolving loan fund. Fillmore County Hospital is initial recipient of loan.

2007 – Perennial began the deployment of Automated Meter Infrastructure (AMI) system.  This deployment would take over 2 years to change all the meters throughout the District.  Communications equipment installed in the substations would allow Perennial staff to read meters from the office.  The AMI system eliminated rural customers from reading their meters on a monthly basis.

December 23, 2009 – Started with freezing rain.  The next two days severe blizzard conditions brought snow accumulations to over 16 inches driven by winds gusting over 55 mph.  This storm left 2380 customers without power.  York and Fillmore County Road Departments assisted in clearing drifts for our line crews to begin restoring service.

2014 – Perennial Celebrated its 75th anniversary.

Today – Perennial currently has 38 employees, approximately 8,000 customers and 1,958 miles of line.
